New York. – Arajet, the flag carrier airline of the Dominican Republic, participated this Sunday in the Dominican Day Parade in Manhattan, where it reported that the most important route in its entire network is the one connecting this city with the Dominican Republic, where more than 100,000 passengers have already flown in just the first 7 months of the year 2026.

During the stopover, Arajet reaffirmed its commitment to the Dominican diaspora and highlighted the strategic role of air connectivity in strengthening economic, tourism, and family ties between the Dominican Republic and the Greater New York metropolitan area.

Manuel Luna, Chief Communication and External Affairs Officer of Arajet, also announced that the airline will very soon begin a fourth daily frequency at Newark International Airport, thereby continuing to increase its commitment to the New York and New Jersey market.

Arajet stated that its presence at the Dominican Day Parade is part of its commitment to accompany Dominicans both inside and outside the country, as well as to project the values, culture, and identity of the Dominican Republic internationally.

Arajet began its operations between Santo Domingo and Newark in June 2025, marking a milestone for national commercial aviation by becoming the first Dominican airline in approximately three decades to directly connect the country with the New York area under the Dominican flag.

The airline explained that the growing market demand has driven the expansion of flight offerings, strengthening the options available to travelers and contributing to greater competition in one of the most important air corridors for the Dominican Republic.

“For Arajet, New York represents much more than a destination within our network. It is home to a fundamental part of our diaspora and one of the Dominican Republic’s main economic, family, and cultural bridges to the world. As the flag carrier of the Dominicans, we are committed to continuing to bring our people closer together, offering more travel options, and proudly carrying our flag to international markets,” stated Luna.

He indicated that the Dominican diaspora constitutes a strategic segment for the country’s air connectivity, due to the constant flow of travelers it generates to the Dominican Republic and its impact on activities linked to tourism, trade, remittances, family travel, and the consumption of goods and services.

The expansion into Newark has also allowed Arajet to participate directly in one of the most important international markets for the country, generating new opportunities to transport passengers from both Santo Domingo and Punta Cana and facilitating connections to other destinations in Arajet’s network across the continent.

During the celebration in Manhattan, where thousands of Dominicans gather every year to show pride in their roots, Arajet was present as a brand born in the Dominican Republic that today carries the national flag to some of the main airports on the continent.

For the airline, this participation also symbolizes the growth achieved by Dominican commercial aviation and the strengthening of the country’s connectivity with the United States, particularly with a region that concentrates one of the most important Dominican communities abroad.

“Every time one of our planes lands in New York carrying the Dominican flag, we are also projecting who we are as a country, our ability to compete, grow, and connect the Dominican Republic with the world. Being with our diaspora at the Dominican Day Parade is to celebrate that shared pride and remember that, no matter where we live, we remain connected by the same flag,” added Luna.

Arajet continues to develop its international expansion strategy from its bases in Santo Domingo and Punta Cana, positioning the Dominican Republic as a new air hub on the continent and strengthening the participation of a Dominican airline in strategic markets for tourism, trade, and passenger mobility.
