Bogotá.- Colombian singer Carlos Vives presented this Tuesday the official music video for ‘Buscando el mar‘, the track he recorded with Dominican artist Juan Luis Guerra, which is part of his latest album ‘El Último Disco, Vol. 1‘, a work that pays tribute to the literature of Gabriel García Márquez and the musical roots of the Caribbean.
Inspired by the novel ‘One Hundred Years of Solitude’, the song takes as its starting point the search for a way to the sea by José Arcadio Buendía, one of the novel’s protagonists, a metaphor for freedom that Vives and Guerra translate into a work where Caribbean sounds, pop, and instruments such as accordion, percussion, guitars, and piano converge.
The music video narrates the artists’ journey with images of beaches, mangroves, and the coasts of the Colombian Caribbean, celebrating nature, identity, and the connection to the sea.

The release of this video accompanies the success of the album ‘El Último Disco, Vol. 1’, which features the single ‘Te dedico’, a track that was included by Billboard magazine among the best songs of 2026 and reached the number one spot on the Latin Airplay and Tropical Airplay charts.
Another track from the album, ‘Tuyo y nada más’, also reached number one on the radio in Colombia, Ecuador, the Dominican Republic, and Chile, consolidating the reception of Vives’ recording project.

Likewise, the singer confirmed his participation in the charity concert ‘A concert for Venezuela’, scheduled for next August 23rd in Los Angeles and headlined by Gustavo Dudamel together with the city’s Philharmonic Orchestra, an initiative aimed at raising funds for the Venezuelan communities affected by the recent earthquakes in the oil-rich country.
