Bogotá.- Colombian authorities raised the death toll from Monday’s 7.4-magnitude earthquake to 281 on Thursday, adding that 3,971 people have been injured and 379 remain missing so far.
The president of Colombia, Abelardo de la Espriella, released these data in a press conference in which he highlighted that the search for the missing is the “priority” of the Government at this moment.
“The situation is complex, but we are using all our capacity” and that of other countries that have offered help and met the corresponding standards, assured De la Espriella. “Our priority is to save lives,” he added.
