Councilwoman Susi de la Cruz asks President Abinader to intervene in the Municipality of SDO
Santo Domingo. – Councilor of the municipality of Santo Domingo Oeste, Susi de la Cruz, known as “La Chichigua”, publicly requested the President of the Republic, Luis Abinader, to intervene in the Mayor’s Office of Santo Domingo Oeste, alleging alleged mismanagement of municipal funds by Mayor Francisco Peña.
The councilwoman expressed her concern about the lack of administrative transparency and the financial situation that, according to her, the council is going through, pointing out that municipal resources are not reflected in works or improvements for the communities of the municipality.
“The mayor’s funds do not appear and are not translated into real solutions for the sectors. It is necessary for the president to order an intervention that clarifies the handling of resources and guarantees transparent management,” said De la Cruz.
She indicated that as a councilwoman she has received constant complaints from community members about the lack of basic services, the deterioration of infrastructure, and the abandonment of priority works, despite the budgets allocated to the city council.
Furthermore, he maintained that reports and explanations on the use of funds have been requested from the Council of Aldermen, without clear answers having been offered by the municipal administration so far.
Finally, Susi de la Cruz reiterated her commitment to oversight, accountability, and the defense of the interests of the residents of Santo Domingo Oeste, while urging the competent State organizations to investigate the financial situation of the council.
