Santo Domingo.– A court in the National District granted parole to Alicia Anabel Santos Díaz, 54, accused of the alleged violation of articles 37 and 39 of Law No. 210-19, which regulates the use and respect of national symbols, and authorized her to leave the country and periodic reporting.

Santos Díaz was arrested upon her arrival in the Dominican Republic from the United States, in compliance with judicial order number 2025-AJ0051862, issued on August 7th by Judge Fátima Veloz, of the Tenth Instruction Court of the National District.

According to the authorities, the imputation originates from an action considered an offense against the Dominican National Anthem, one of the national symbols protected by the Constitution and current legislation.
