DICRIM identifies and works on the search and capture of members of a dangerous criminal network operating in San Cristóbal

Santo Domingo.- The recent investigations carried out by the Central Investigation Directorate (DICRIM), through the Department of Search and Capture of Fugitives, Rebels and Convicts, have allowed to establish the existence of an organized criminal structure that operates in this municipality and that would be linked to the increase in crime in the area. According to intelligence reports, the network is headed by Luis Carlos Paredes Pujols, alias “Yeyito,” who, along with a group of individuals, participates in various illicit activities, ranging from armed robbery to contract killings. Among the identified members are: Antonio Pichardo Moreta, Amauris Guzmán Fortuna, Argeni Emilio de la Cruz, Juan Carlos Méndez Miranda, Yeudi Josué Campusano, Adrián Araujo Lorenzo, Ramón Antonio Rodríguez, Manuel Jesús Espinal Ramírez, Yunior Alfonso Soto Guzmán, in addition to Luis Carlos Paredes Pujols himself.

The evidence gathered suggests that these individuals act in a coordinated manner in crimes related to arms and drug trafficking, selective homicides, extortion, and other violent acts that have generated an environment of insecurity in the community. Field reports reveal that members of this network move heavily armed, using high-caliber weapons and intimidation tactics to maintain territorial control and hinder the action of the authorities, which has increased the risk for both the civilian population and security forces. The identification and neutralization of this criminal organization is a priority for the authorities, who are maintaining the development of strategic operations and intelligence work aimed at its complete dismantling, with the purpose of bringing those responsible to justice and restoring tranquility in San Cristóbal. Finally, the Institution calls on these antisocial individuals and their families to seek the path they deem appropriate in order to surrender voluntarily and answer for the acts they are accused of.
