Don Omar celebrates 25 years of Fast and Furious

DUM Editorial.- The Puerto Rican artist Don Omar celebrates the 25th anniversary of the Fast & Furious saga, highlighting his participation in one of the film franchises where he has combined his musical career with acting, by playing the character Rico Santos.

William Omar Landrón recalled his time in the movies and expressed gratitude for having been part of the history of the saga, whose first installment arrived in theaters in 2001.

“25 years of Fast & Furious and what a privilege to know that a part of me was forever immortalized within these films,” the actor stated.

Don Omar also highlighted two of his contributions to the franchise: his music and the portrayal of Rico Santos. “Grateful to be able to contribute my music, to bring the great Rico Santos to life, and to be part of this family,” he added.

Although the franchise began in 2001 with The Fast and the Furious, Don Omar made his first cinematic appearance in the saga in Fast & Furious, released in 2009. In the production, he took on the role of Rico Santos, a character linked to the team led by Dominic Toretto.

Santos usually appears accompanied by Tego Leo, played by fellow Puerto Rican Tego Calderón. Both characters form a duo within the group and participate in different operations carried out throughout the films.

Rico Santos is introduced within the saga as a mechanic and street thief who ends up joining Toretto’s team.
