FEDA impacts San Francisco de Macorís by donating 20 thousand coffee seedlings, training, chicks and tools to farmersDuarte. – The Special Fund for Agricultural Development (FEDA), led by Hecmilio Galván, successfully carried out the 5th Ruta del Jaya in the rural areas of Duarte Province, a day of 11 activities to support rural development that included the donation of 20,000 coffee seedlings for the Farmers of Joya Arriba, technical training, delivery of seedlings, agricultural tools to producers and a medical operation for the inhabitants of the Northeast region.
Galvan promised more support to the farmers of Cibao, especially the mountain farmers, who he assured are the guarantee of environmental protection in the highlands.
The activity was part of the program to strengthen agricultural production promoted by the institution throughout the country, with the aim of improving the productivity and sustainability of farmers and their families.
The 5th Jaya Route began with the FEDA program in your Community, at the Juan Pablo Duarte Community Center of La Joya, where the farmers interacted with Galván, where they expressed their needs, which were heard and noted by the director of FEDA to follow up and respond as quickly as possible.
“I think there is a lot to develop in this area, we are going to be working on the issue of ecotourism in this area so that it develops more. We will return, this is the first of many activities that we are going to have”, indicated Hecmilio Galván.
During the day, FEDA technicians offered various training sessions on agroecology, agritourism, workshops for entrepreneurs, progress planting, launching the plan to plant your patio, talks and guidance on good agricultural practices, soil management, crop diversification, and efficient use of natural resources.
Within the benefited communities are: San Francisco de Macorís; La Joya; La Joya Arriba; El Guineal; Pimentel; La Guarana; La Yaguiza; La Malena and Loma de la Joya.
