Puerto Plata. – The inauguration of the Punta Bergantín Welcome Center marks the beginning of the physical infrastructure for the tourism project, conceived to transform the north coast through new investments, infrastructure, and opportunities for its communities, and represents the materialization of a vision aimed at projecting the potential of the so-called New North.
During the event, Andrés Marranzini Grullón, executive director of Punta Bergantín, assured that, from this moment on, the focus will be on results, through the development of new infrastructure, the permanent incorporation of brands, and visible progress that will reflect the scope of an initiative called to redefine the tourism and economic positioning of Puerto Plata.
“The Welcome Center represents much more than the opening of a physical space; it marks the moment when the vision of Punta Bergantín begins to become tangible. We are entering an execution phase, in which we will see infrastructure rise, new investments join, and projects advance to generate opportunities and restore to Puerto Plata the prominence it deserves within the country’s tourism development,” stated Marranzini Grullón.
The executive president of Banreservas, Leonardo Aguilera, ratified the financial entity’s commitment to Punta Bergantín and guaranteed its support in every project, process, and agreement, just as it has done since its inception. Its backing reaffirms the institutional confidence in a proposal that articulates investment, sustainability, and community development as pillars to drive the region’s growth.

For his part, the Minister of the Presidency, José Ignacio Paliza, highlighted that Punta Bergantín and the Ámbar highway constitute fundamental pieces to drive a new stage in the history of Puerto Plata. The convergence of both projects will allow for strengthening the connectivity of the north coast and creating favorable conditions to attract investment, boost economic activity, and create new employment opportunities for the province and the region.
The Welcome Center thus becomes the first operational infrastructure of Punta Bergantín and the gateway to a development that will progressively advance with new tourism, real estate, and service projects. The space will allow investors, partners, visitors, and communities to get closer to the project’s comprehensive vision, while marking the beginning of a stage characterized by tangible progress in the territory.
