During the signing of the agreement, Gómez Mazara stated that technology policy is part of the strategic agenda of countries that aspire to sustainable growth in the digital economy, while emphasizing that digital infrastructure has become a central component of contemporary economic power.The official pointed out that the decisions linked to the telecommunications sector have an increasingly strategic weight, so public institutions must be prepared to understand, anticipate and manage the changes imposed by technological evolution. Gómez Mazara indicated that this alliance responds to the need to continue building specialized knowledge within the Dominican State, at a time when the country is promoting a digital transformation agenda that demands vision, training, and international cooperation.“Technology policy is part of the country’s strategic agenda that seeks sustainable growth in the digital economy. Digital infrastructure has become a central level of economic power. The networks we regulate determine how economies compete and how society participates in the digital age,” he said.
Cooperation will also allow linking with a global network of experts in technology policy, which expands opportunities for the exchange of knowledge on topics such as digital infrastructure, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, connectivity, and network governance. The signing of the agreement took place within the framework of an agenda that also included Gómez Mazara’s participation as a panelist in the meeting “Tech & Geopolitics: How Countries Make Strategic Decisions About Networks”, organized by the Georgetown Americas Institute and the Latin America Leadership Program of the McDonough School of Business at Georgetown University. In that academic space, the way countries make strategic decisions about digital networks and infrastructure was addressed, with emphasis on topics such as mobile networks, cloud services, data flows, cybersecurity, and the balance between security, innovation, and geopolitical risk. With this initiative, Indotel expands its international projection and strengthens its capacity to incorporate new analysis and training tools in an area that is increasingly decisive for the development, competitiveness, and security of nations.“At Indotel, we believe in institutional collaboration.
