Constanza, Tireo.– On Thursday morning, the mayor of the Tireo municipality, Paul Amín Piña Báez, stated, along with his mayoral team, that he was commemorating a year of promises that, as he claimed, remain unfulfilled, despite having sparked hope among the residents.
The municipal executive considered that this situation represents a setback for the municipality, pointing out that the promises made have remained only on paper, without the announced works being executed. Likewise, he expressed, ironically, his “gratitude” to the Minister of the Presidency, José Ignacio Paliza, for the promises that, he asserts, still remain unfulfilled.
“Today, unfortunately, we are not going to laugh, nor applaud, nor congratulate. With this cake, we celebrate the first anniversary of broken promises. I always had a good perception of Paliza. Beyond political differences, we were united by family ties of friendship between my father, Plácido Piña; Doña Grace Nouel, widow of Paliza, and Don Juan Ignacio Paliza. That is why it hurts me even more to have to say publicly that the hope of our people has turned into disappointment,” concluded Piña.
He recalled that on July 9, 2025, the Minister of the Presidency, José Ignacio Paliza, announced, in the presence of the PRM president in the district, Marcia Batista; the citizen María Reina Félix and representatives of civil society, that progress would be made immediately on the execution of important works for the municipality.

Among the announced projects were the completion of the Tireo Aqueduct, the Sports Multipurpose Center, the improvement of local roads, the execution of the contract already tendered by Yellow Construcción for the delivery of a compactor truck and a roller, as well as the acquisition of other essential equipment to strengthen municipal services.
