Minister of Public Health visits Samaná and meets with the mayor of the El Limón district

Samaná. – Within the framework of an official visit to the province of Samaná, the Minister of Public Health, Dr. Víctor Atallah, held a strategic meeting with the mayor of the municipal district El Limón, Ing. Fernando Mercado, with the aim of strengthening health services in the region.

During the day, Minister Atallah was accompanied by Mayor Mercado in a meeting with all the staff of the Provincial Health Directorate (DPS), where concerns, proposals, and operational needs that directly impact the quality of care received by the population were heard.

Eng. Mercado presented a series of requests aimed at improving the sanitary infrastructure, strengthening medical personnel, and optimizing services in the El Limón district, highlighting the urgency of addressing the current conditions of the center that houses the offices of the provincial DPS.

Minister Atallah took the opportunity to tour the facilities, assess the quality of the services offered, and verify the physical condition of the premises, reaffirming his commitment to the well-being of all Dominicans. “Samaná is within the priorities of the Ministry of Public Health,” said the official, recognizing the strategic value of the province for its tourism, ecological, and community growth.

This institutional approach marks a firm step towards the consolidation of a more efficient, humane, and citizen-focused healthcare network, and reflects Mayor Fernando Mercado’s commitment to proactive, transparent, and community-centered management.
