National Police places a man accused of assaulting his father in La Romana at the disposal of justice

La Romana, R.D. – The National Police, through agents of the Central Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DICRIM), placed Alcadio Sánchez, alias “Chulo,” at the disposal of justice, accused of physically assaulting his father, Mr. Ernesto Sánchez Jiménez, in an incident that occurred on February 2 in the Villa Hermosa sector, La Romana province. The case gained public notoriety after the dissemination on social media of a video in which the now-detained person is observed mistreating his parent, which prompted the immediate intervention of the authorities. After a hard work of location, Sánchez surrendered voluntarily to the Police. Upon learning of the situation, the agents went to the victim’s residence to verify Mr. Sanchez Jimenez’s condition and provide immediate assistance, proceeding to transfer him to a public hospital in the area, where he received medical attention.

The National Police immediately executed judicial arrest warrant No. 2026-AJ0007874. The detainee is accused of the alleged violation of article 309-2 of the Dominican Penal Code, which punishes domestic violence. Alcadio Sánchez will be placed at the disposal of the Public Ministry in the coming hours for the corresponding purposes and knowledge of the coercive measure. The National Police reiterates its commitment to protecting the physical and emotional integrity of citizens, as well as to the prosecution of all forms of domestic violence.
