Police and Public Ministry investigate death of 19-year-old in Los Guandules
Santo Domingo. – The National Police reported that, in coordination with the Public Ministry, it is investigating the circumstances in which a 19-year-old woman died, due to a gunshot wound, during an event that occurred on the morning of Friday, December 26, 2025, in the Los Guandules sector, of the National District.
The victim was identified as Perla Jokasta Santos Pacheco, who was found without vital signs on the pavement of Francisco del Rosario Sánchez Avenue, in the aforementioned sector.
According to the preliminary report, police units arrived at the scene after receiving an alert about a person deceased from a gunshot wound, caused by individuals in the process of being identified.
The deceased, according to preliminary reports, was traveling on the back of a motorcycle along with the driver and another young woman, who are being interviewed by the authorities.
As part of the investigative process, several people are being interviewed with the aim of gathering information to clarify what happened.
In the scene, technicians from the Scientific Police carried out the corresponding investigation, collecting a .45 caliber shell casing, which was duly preserved as evidence.
Authorities indicated that investigations are ongoing, and further details will be provided in due course as the process progresses and conclusive results are obtained.
