Police, Intrant and Migration intensify motorcycle control operation in the National District

Santo Domingo. The National Police, in coordination with the National Institute of Transit and Land Transportation (Intrant) and the General Directorate of Migration (DGM), carried out for the second consecutive day a broad inspection, control, and regularization operation for motorcycles at various strategic points in the National District.

The day was coordinated by the Central Regional Directorate of the National District of the National Police, headed by General Gabriel de los Santos García, together with Lieutenant Colonel Jhonny González, in charge of the Analysis and Monitoring Center (C-1), and the Director of Transit and Road Safety of Intrant, Joel Manuel Gneco Gross.

Members of the General Directorate of Traffic and Land Transportation Safety (Digesett), Preventive Police agents, and technical personnel from Intrant participated in the efforts, carrying out inspections, document verifications, and providing guidance to drivers at various motorcycle taxi stands in the capital.

The interventions were carried out on important roads in the National District, including John F. Kennedy, Winston Churchill, Doctor Defilló, Independencia, and Enrique Jiménez Moya avenues, where authorities verified driver’s licenses, vehicle registrations, motorcycle documentation, and compliance with the requirements established by law.

According to the participating institutions, the operation aims to strengthen the processes of formalization and regulation of motorcycle transport, contribute to the reduction of traffic accidents, and reinforce citizen security in high-traffic areas.

The authorities highlighted that these actions are part of an inter-institutional strategy aimed at promoting safer, more organized, and efficient mobility, as well as strengthening civic coexistence and preventing criminal acts in the National District.
