New York. – The Dominican audiovisual producer, cultural manager, and entrepreneur Víctor Dumé was recognized in New York City for his outstanding professional career, his community leadership, and his contributions to the development of the Dominican Republic and the Dominican diaspora in the United States.
The distinctions were awarded by Congressman Adriano Espaillat and State Assemblywoman Amanda Séptimo, who highlighted Dumé’s work in the cultural, audiovisual, and community spheres. He also received special recognition from the president of the Dominican Taste Festival 2026, Elida Almonte, for his support of initiatives that promote Dominican gastronomy, tourism, culture, and entrepreneurship.
The recognitions highlight Dumé’s career as a cultural manager, producer, audiovisual entrepreneur, and director of photography, in addition to his role as founder of Bávaro Media Group and Bávaro Estudio, companies that have contributed to the strengthening of the national film industry and the promotion of the Dominican Republic as a setting for major international productions.
Likewise, the distinctions value his community and humanitarian work, his leadership within the Bávaro International Airport (AIB) Foundation, his status as honorary president of the Latin American Summit, and his permanent support for initiatives aimed at strengthening the ties between the Dominican Republic and its community abroad.
In the proclamation issued by the United States Congress, it is highlighted that the recognition is granted to Víctor Dumé “for his exemplary career and his incalculable contribution to Dominican pride in the world.”

For her part, Assemblywoman Amanda Séptimo stated that Dumé represents “an example of leadership and commitment to the community,” while highlighting that his trajectory demonstrates how culture, communication, and community service can contribute to the development of the Dominican Republic and strengthen ties with the diaspora.
Upon receiving the distinctions, Dumé thanked the support of the U.S. authorities and expressed that these recognitions represent a greater commitment to his country.
“I receive these distinctions with deep gratitude and humility. I share them with my family, my collaborators, and all the people who have been part of this journey,” he stated.

He added that the recognitions motivate him to continue working in favor of culture, cinema, tourism, entrepreneurship, and community development in the Dominican Republic.
The awards ceremony was led by Elida Almonte and was attended by the Consul General of the Dominican Republic in New York, Jesús Vázquez; the former president of the Constitutional Court, Milton Ray Guevara; the governor of Samaná, Teodora Mullix Geraldino; the mayor of Santa Bárbara de Samaná, Nelson Núñez; deputy Cirilo Moronta, as well as businessman Maikol Peralta, among other personalities.
The event was held in the VIP halls of the Agenda restaurant, located in Astoria, Queens, where representatives of the Dominican community highlighted the importance of recognizing figures who, through their work and leadership, contribute to strengthening the image of the Dominican Republic and the ties with the diaspora.
