Miami, Florida. – Artificial intelligence, digital transformation, and media sustainability mark the beginning of SIPConnect 2026, the meeting organized by the Inter American Press Association (IAPA), which is being held from July 28 to 30 at the InterContinental Doral Hotel in Miami with the participation of editors, executives, product leaders, and innovation specialists from across the continent.
For three days, attendees will analyze the changes facing the journalism industry in the face of the advancement of artificial intelligence, share experiences regarding new technologies, and debate strategies to strengthen newsrooms, expand audiences, and consolidate sustainable business models.
The opening day began with welcoming remarks from IAPA President Pierre Manigault and the organization’s Executive Director, Carlos Lauría. Subsequently, Infobae founder and CEO Daniel Hadad delivered the opening keynote address, focusing on the challenges and opportunities facing journalism in the current digital landscape.
One of the main axes of discussion was the incorporation of artificial intelligence in newsrooms. Strategist Claudia Báez explained why many journalistic organizations implement AI tools without achieving significant transformations in their processes, while also raising the need to adopt strategic changes that transcend the use of new technologies.

In that same context, a panel composed of Graciela Rock, Néstor Altuve, and Fernanda Brovia, moderated by Soledad Arréguez, presented initiatives and innovations that various media outlets in Latin America are already developing to integrate artificial intelligence into their editorial operations.
This Wednesday’s agenda is scheduled to conclude at 5:45 in the afternoon and includes conferences on the evolution of journalism on YouTube, the use of technological tools to strengthen the bond with audiences, content classification in the era of artificial intelligence, and best practices for implementing these technologies without compromising the rigor or credibility of the information.
