Santiago.- The Government will begin in the coming days the intervention of the emblematic Del Sol street in Santiago as part of the second phase of the project to recover the Historic Center of the city.

The announcement was made by Ángel de la Cruz, president of the Presidential Commission for Provincial Development, during a meeting attended by government officials and representatives of business institutions in this city The project, which will transform this vital commercial artery into a mixed boulevard that includes the reorganization of traffic, undergrounding of electrical and telephone wiring, beautification of facades, and modernization of the lighting system.

The official explained that the project aims to revitalize the area as a high-value cultural, commercial, and tourist space. He indicated that the intervention on Del Sol street is the most complex part of this process due to the large amount of vehicular traffic, which is why it will be done in three sections, and a new one will not be opened until the previous one is finished and allows normal transit. The project has an estimated initial budget of 583 million pesos. The estimated execution time is one to two years, although the authorities assure that measures are being taken to reduce the impact time to a minimum.
