Young man denounces obstacles to obtain pension for son of military personnel who died in service
Santo Domingo.- The young Sheilin Estephanie Cadeau denounces the difficulties she has faced for three years to obtain the necessary documentation to manage the pension of her stepson, after the death of her partner, the military of the Navy of the Republic, the active Sergeant Santiago Jhonatan Javier Ramírez.
The complainant explained that the child’s father died on January 2, 2023 while on duty in Sánchez, Samaná.
According to reports, since then he has gone on multiple occasions to dependencies of the Dominican Navy and offices in Sánchez to request a document that, he assures, is essential to complete the child’s pension process.
“I have been requesting a document for three years. It is the list from that day that I am requesting. When I go to the Navy, they tell me they cannot give it to me”, Cadeau expressed during his complaint.
He indicated that on several occasions he has been sent from one office to another without obtaining concrete answers. “**When I go to Sánchez, Samaná they tell me that’s in the Navy and when I go to the Navy they send me to Sánchez**”, he maintained.
Sheilin stated that initially the minor was granted a temporary pension for one year, allegedly based on the length of service of the deceased military man, who had been in the institution for seven years.
