A 4.1-magnitude earthquake is recorded in San José de Ocoa this Thursday morning.

San José de Ocoa, R.D.- An earthquake of magnitude 4.1 on the Richter scale shook the morning of this Thursday the municipality of San José de Ocoa, at 9:28 a.m., according to the Android Earthquake Alerts System alert system. The epicenter of the earthquake was located about 10 kilometers from the head city of Ocoa, generating concern among residents, who said they clearly felt the tremor.

The earthquake was also felt in nearby provinces such as Azua, Peravia, Santo Domingo and areas of the south of the country, according to citizen reports. So far, no material damage or human losses have been recorded; however, relief organizations and rapid response teams remain on preventive alert.
