Santo Domingo.- An inmate of Haitian nationality escaped from the Anamuya Correction and Rehabilitation Center (CCR), in La Altagracia, over the weekend, the General Directorate of Penitentiary and Correctional Services (DGSPC) reported this Monday.

The DGSPC explained, preliminarily, that prison authorities realized on Saturday that a person deprived of liberty was missing when taking the morning count. The alert occurred in cell 18, located in pavilion C of the aforementioned penitentiary, when, upon calling his name, the inmate was not in the cell. When asked their colleagues, they stated that they last saw him at visiting hours, although no family member or acquaintance had registered as a visitor to the inmate.
