He remembered that the same year his daughter Adriana turned 15, a family milestone that coincided with an intense political agenda. Abinader highlighted that, in the midst of the campaign, he maintained close contact with the citizenry, participating in community meetings, sharing everyday moments with families, and listening firsthand to the concerns and needs of the Dominican people.

“Being close to people, listening to their concerns, and learning from each encounter was key in my political formation,” expressed the president, while highlighting the importance of active presence in vulnerable communities and sectors.

Although he acknowledged that he was not the winner in the 2016 elections, Abinader stated that each experience lived during that campaign strengthened his commitment to the country and prepared him to better serve the nation. “2016 marked the beginning of a path that we continue to build together,” stated the Head of State, reiterating his call for citizen participation and the collective construction of the future of the Dominican Republic.
