Santo Domingo.- Within the framework of the Corpus Christi celebration, Catholic seminarian Antonio Lorenzo reflected on the meaning of the Eucharist and urged Dominican society to strengthen its relationship with Jesus Christ as a path to face the challenges affecting the country.
During an interview granted to De Último Minuto, Lorenzo explained that the Body of Christ has its origin in the institution of the Eucharist during the Last Supper, when Jesus shared bread and wine with his disciples. As he indicated, for Catholics these elements represent the body and blood of Christ, becoming spiritual nourishment for the salvation of believers.
“Jesus Christ in that little bit of bread and in that little bit of wine becomes, makes himself food and drink for our salvation,” he expressed when explaining the meaning of this sacrament to those who do not know or do not practice the Catholic faith.
When referring to the social reality the country is experiencing, Lorenzo pointed out that a greater closeness to Jesus could contribute to reducing many of the negative situations that affect society. “He invited citizens to deepen their faith and maintain a closer relationship with Christ,” he noted.

Likewise, he highlighted that, despite the difficulties and regrettable events observed today, there is a vast majority of people who maintain their Christian beliefs and values.
“Those who commit acts contrary to the good represent a minority compared to the large number of Dominicans who remain steadfast in their faith,” indicated Lorenzo.
Likewise, he called for not limiting oneself solely to believing in God, but to living a close relationship with Jesus Christ through the practice of Christian values.
