CTC commemorates National Youth Day with a technological and training day in Boca Chica

Boca Chica. – The Community Technological Centers (CTC) brought a technological day to Boca Chica in commemoration of the National Youth Day, headed by the general coordinator of the Social Policies Cabinet of the Presidency, Geanilda Vásquez.

The event brought together dozens of young people, community leaders, local authorities and representatives from the education sector, in a setting where technology ceased to be a distant promise to become a concrete tool for social transformation.

The general director of the CTCs, Isidro Torres, highlighted that investing in youth is betting on the sustainable progress of the country. He stressed that digital training is no longer a luxury, but an urgent need to close social and economic gaps.

“Technology is the language of the present. Whoever masters it has real opportunities for growth in their hands. That is why we urge our young people to study communication, innovation, and technological areas that allow them to build their own future”, he expressed.

Torres also valued the presence of Geanilda Vásquez as a sign of direct support from the Government to the most vulnerable communities. He highlighted her leadership and social sensitivity, ensuring that her management will strengthen the articulation of public policies aimed at guaranteeing more opportunities for young people. The official also considered the hardworking nature of Boca Chica, defining it as a “fighter and resilient” municipality, with young people who, even in adverse conditions, combine study and work to get ahead. During the technology day, participants accessed innovative initiatives such as Juventud Maker, aimed at developing technical and creative skills; drone flight and handling workshops, virtual reality, and technological experimentation spaces designed to stimulate critical thinking and the culture of innovation. These activities, more than simple training sessions, were presented as gateways to new professional vocations.

For his part, Vásquez expressed his emotion and commitment to Dominican youth. “Today we not only celebrate National Youth Day; we celebrate your present. These centers exist to reduce inequalities and open paths. Our commitment is that no young person is left behind,” he stated. In that order, he thanked the trust placed in him by President Luis Abinader and assured that from his management he will promote coordinated actions to reduce the gap between social classes, strengthening spaces such as the CTCs, which he said “bring opportunities where others often don’t reach.” The meeting thus became a space of recognition for emerging talent, where each workshop, each demonstration, and each word pointed to the same idea: youth is not only future hope, but also a transforming force of the present. The activity was also attended by Jheyson García, deputy of the province of Santo Domingo; Aracelis Tejeda, vice mayor of La Caleta; Adalisa Rosado, president of the Association of Beach Sportsmen with Disabilities of Boca Chica; Yessica Díaz, director of the Elvira Mendoza School, as well as community representatives, teachers and collaborators of the CTC. With days like this, the Community Technology Centers reaffirm their mission to democratize knowledge and turn innovation into a bridge towards inclusion, demonstrating that when you invest in youth, you invest directly in the country’s destiny.
