Santo Domingo.– The President of the
Republic, Luis Abinader, informed that the Dominican Government is constantly monitoring the conflict in
the Middle East, specifically between
Iran and Israel, given the possible impact this could have on the national economy, especially on the price of fuels.
During his participation in
La Semanal con la Prensa, the president revealed that since last June 13, when the war tensions between both countries intensified, the economic Cabinet has been analyzing
“hour by hour” the changes in the international markets.

“Since the Israel-Iran situation has altered the peace situation and the price of hydrocarbons. The situation is unstable and we are seeing what measures we can think of to mitigate that impact”, he pointed out.
Abinader highlighted that it is not the first time his administration has faced international crisis scenarios, recalling that since the beginning of the war in Ukraine in 2022, his Government has implemented special measures that have avoided negative consequences for the local economy.
“The goal is to continue making responsible and timely decisions, as we already did during the pandemic and with the conflict in Eastern Europe, to protect the most vulnerable sectors and maintain the macroeconomic stability of the country,” stated the Head of State.
