Santo Domingo.– Hundreds of Catholic faithful from different provinces of the country participated this Thursday in the solemn celebration of Corpus Christi, held in the gardens of the Colegio Quisqueya, on 27 de Febrero Avenue, and presided over by the coadjutor archbishop of Santo Domingo, Monsignor Carlos Tomás Morel Diplán.
The activity brought together delegations from more than 200 parishes of the National District and the episcopal vicariates of Santo Domingo West, Santo Domingo North, and Bayaguana-Monte Plata, becoming a massive demonstration of faith and devotion to the Blessed Sacrament.
Among the attendees was the United States Ambassador to the Dominican Republic, Leah Campos, who joined the thousands of believers who traveled from different parts of the country to participate in one of the most important celebrations of the Catholic Church.

In his homily, Monsignor Morel Diplán highlighted the significance of Corpus Christi as an expression of the real presence of Jesus Christ in the Eucharist and called on believers to live out the values of the Gospel amidst the current challenges of society.

The day was marked by moments of prayer, liturgical chants, Eucharistic adoration, and displays of deep spirituality, reaffirming the unity of the Dominican Catholic community.
The organizers highlighted the massive attendance of the faithful of different ages and communities, who joined together to commemorate one of the most significant celebrations of the Catholic liturgical calendar, in an atmosphere of reflection, fraternity, and hope.
