Santo Domingo.- The Dominican Institute of Meteorology (Indomet), reports that this Thursday the temperatures will be hot and showers are expected towards locations in Monte Plata, El Gran Santo Domingo, Monseñor Nouel, San Cristóbal, La Vega, San Juan, Elías Piña, Barahona, La Altagracia and El Seibo.
They indicate that during the early morning hours, conditions of some passing showers are perceived towards La Altagracia, María Trinidad Sánchez, Samaná, Duarte, as a result of the dragging of clouds by the east wind and a weak upper-level trough.In the early hours of the night, we will observe a more stable weather panorama, sky with scattered clouds to partly cloudy at times.
For Friday, a high-pressure system will be influencing the weather conditions; with mostly clear skies during the morning. However, during the afternoon, the interaction of the wind with the orography and daytime heating will generate cloud increases towards El Seibo, Hato Mayor, Monte Plata, Monseñor Nouel, Sánchez Ramírez, La Vega, Santiago, San Juan and Elías Piña with a low probability of thunderstorms and some wind gusts.

Faced with hot temperatures, Indomet urges the population to hydrate adequately, drinking enough fluids, preferably water, wearing light-colored clothing and avoiding the sun’s rays, without proper protection, from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Taking into consideration that children and the elderly are the most susceptible to high temperatures.
Temperatures: the minimum will be between 21 °C and 23 °C, and the maximum between 32 °C and 34 °C. High thermal sensation.
On Saturday, a trough at different levels of the troposphere will be approaching, which will slightly affect the country; consequently, in the afternoon hours, cloudiness will increase again towards the localities of the regions of the southeast, northeast, the Central Mountain Range and the border area, where local showers, possible thunderstorms and wind gusts are forecast until the early hours of the night.
