Santo Domingo.– The Public Ministry requested authorization from the court for the Department of Informatics of the National Institute of Forensic Sciences (INACIF) and the Department of Investigation of Crimes and High Technology Crimes (Dicat) of the National Police, through the prosecution itself, to proceed to identify the IP address and the origin of the first dissemination of the videos related to the case of group sexual violence.
The request also includes an analysis of the internet user who initially shared the audiovisual materials, with the aim of tracking the distribution chain and stopping the circulation of that sensitive content on digital platforms.

Santiago prosecutor, Quirsa Abreu, emphasized that these actions are part of the investigations to protect the dignity of the victim and bring those responsible to justice. She also recalled that this is an ongoing process that seeks both to punish the crime and to contain the re-victimization through public exposure on social media.
In that same vein, the Attorney General, Yeni Berenice Reynoso, had already called on users, digital page administrators, and social media owners to immediately remove the videos and photographs showing the aggression, warning that their dissemination constitutes a form of secondary violence against the victim.
