Communicator and businessman Santiago Matías thanked residents of Santiago on Sunday for their support during a signature-collection drive aimed at securing legal recognition for his political project, Dominicanos Primero.
Matías said the response from residents exceeded his expectations, noting that many citizens voluntarily attended the event to publicly express their support for the initiative.
“I am grateful to Santiago. We have already begun collecting signatures, and the people of Santiago have responded as they always have with us,” Matías said during the event.
The businessman said the turnout reinforces what he described as a trend he had already observed during previous activities in the city.
The event represents one of the first public steps for Dominicanos Primero, through which Matías seeks to establish a new political structure and advance its formalization process before electoral authorities.
