President orders transfer of Ercilia Pepín and Juancito Rodríguez to the National Pantheon

Santo Domingo.– By decrees 282-25 and 289-25, the Executive Branch ordered the transfer to the National Pantheon of the remains of Ercilia Pepín Estrella and Juan Rodríguez García (Juancito Rodríguez). The presidential decision, issued on May 27 and 30, respectively, includes the formation of official commissions in charge of organizing the solemn acts corresponding to each transfer. You can also read: Senator Daniel Rivera submits bill on Ercilia Pepín In the case of Ercilia Pepín, an illustrious educator and defender of civic-mindedness, the commission will be chaired by the Minister of Women, Mayra Jiménez, and composed of representatives from academic and patriotic institutions, such as the Permanent Commission of Patriotic Ephemeris, the Dominican Academy of History, the General Archive of the Nation, the Ministry of Culture, the Ministry of Defense, the Ministry of Education, the Autonomous University of Santo Domingo (UASD) and the Dominican Association of Universities (ADOU). For its part, the commission that will coordinate the transfer of Juancito Rodríguez, a radio pioneer in the country and a key figure in national communication, will be headed by the Minister of Culture. It will also include authorities from the same entities mentioned above, along with the Ministry of Interior and Police. These actions are protected by Law 4463, which grants the Executive Branch the power to order, at the time it deems appropriate, the transfer to the National Pantheon of distinguished Dominicans, as a recognition of their historical and social legacy.
