Santiago. – The Vice President of the Republic, Raquel Peña, announced that the construction of the Ámbar highway, one of the most longed-for works in the Northern region, is finally close to materializing thanks to the support of the Government and the inclusion of resources in the complementary budget, which allocates 20% to public investment. “President Abinader has worked consistently for five years to make this project a reality, which is not just a dream of the people of Santiago, but a strategic necessity for the entire country,” he assured. The vice president also highlighted that the highway will allow for a faster and more accessible connection with the Atlantic coast, which will mean for Santiago to have a “practically free beach.” She emphasized that this infrastructure will also boost trade, real estate investment, and construction, consolidating Cibao as a national economic engine. In another matter, Peña referred to the case of the young woman abused in Villa González, the municipality where she is from. She called the act inadmissible and asked that those responsible face the full weight of the law. Likewise, she reaffirmed the need for a joint commitment between the State, the judicial system, and society to combat gender-based violence. The Vice President also highlighted the importance of public-private partnerships in spaces like Expo Acero, which strengthen the construction industry and position the country in the region. She recalled her career of more than 25 years supporting entrepreneurs and encouraged young people to develop sustainable projects. Finally, she addressed the educational issue, highlighting the reform that seeks to unify the management of the Ministries of Education to achieve greater efficiency and quality in teaching.
