Santo Domingo, DR .- The Embassy of Israel in the Dominican Republic commemorated the 78th anniversary of its State’s independence with a moving ceremony centered on the theme “Forces of Renewal.” There, the resilience of the Jewish State was highlighted, as well as how it has managed to overcome adversity throughout its history thanks to its vision of peace and hope.
The ceremony was led by the Ambassador of Israel, H.E. Raslan Abu Rukun, who highlighted that, despite the challenges Israel faces, this nation always remains optimistic regarding the future and the possibility of peace: “History has taught us that dialogue, courage, and cooperation can overcome even the deepest divisions. Israel will continue to strive to achieve security and a better future for all the peoples of the region,” the diplomat noted.
Likewise, the Ambassador emphasized the strong bonds of friendship between Israel and the Dominican Republic, which are rooted in history, shared democratic values, and a genuine solidarity between both peoples.

Furthermore, he highlighted that the bilateral relationship between both countries continues to strengthen in numerous areas of great relevance, including innovation, agriculture, water management, cybersecurity,
trade and technology.

Also in the context of this reception, the Embassy held an exhibition titled
“Israel: Cradle of Innovation”, where major technological developments created in that Middle Eastern country were showcased, inventions that have led it to become a global reference in terms of innovation.
The ceremony concluded with an emotional musical performance by a group of young artists, who performed a medley of Hava Naguila, Jerusalem of Gold, and Hevenu Shalom Aleichem, three Jewish songs about unity, friendship, and peace.
This activity was attended by ministers of the Dominican State, members of Congress, the diplomatic corps, members of the Dominican business sector, and members of the Jewish community.
