Barahona.– With music, emotional recognitions and an extensive cultural agenda, the Ministry of Energy and Mines, along with various institutions of the State, celebrated this Saturday, November 22, the National Larimar Day in the Bahoruco community, La Ciénaga municipality.

The event included a jewelry bazaar in Larimar, panels between miners and artisans, artistic presentations, and the awarding of distinctions to key figures in the production chain, including the first artisan who recognized its value for jewelry, Miguel Méndez, who gave the stone its name. The celebration also marked a historic event: the delivery of the first Certificates of Denomination of Origin of Larimar, an international endorsement that proves its authenticity anywhere in the world. Authorities ratify their commitment to the sustainable development of the mine, the strengthening of local craftsmanship, and the international projection of this emblematic gem of the Caribbean.
