Treasurer of Manabao town hall is accused of misuse of funds

Jarabacoa. – The City Council of the municipal district of Manabao, in La Vega, filed a formal complaint against the current treasurer Yohani Muñoz Sánchez, for misuse of funds. The council, represented by Ángeles Ulerio and Carlos Madera, reported that the legal action is based on an alleged misuse of funds belonging to the mayor’s office, which had not been authorized by Mayor Anyolino Fernández.

According to the information gathered by this media outlet, the amount involved amounts to almost RD$800,000 pesos, distributed in more than 50 transactions carried out in an irregular manner. The case is now in the hands of the competent authorities, who will be responsible for carrying out the corresponding investigations to clarify the situation and determine the responsibilities involved.
