Verón Punta Cana.– With the official start of the hurricane season this June 1st in the Atlantic, the Caribbean Sea, and the Gulf of Mexico, the Verón Punta Cana Mayor’s Office, through its Department of Risk and Disaster Management (DGRD), reported that it has strengthened its monitoring, coordination, and planning mechanisms to respond in a timely manner to potential hydrometeorological events.
The institution indicated that it maintains active meteorological surveillance processes, updates to risk scenarios, and permanent coordination with the entities that make up the local risk management system and the District Emergency Operations Center (COED).

Likewise, he urged the population to stay informed through official channels, identify evacuation routes, and develop a Family Emergency Plan to ensure an adequate response to any eventuality.
The DGRD reminded that preparation is fundamental to reduce risks and protect lives during the hurricane season, which will extend until next November 30th.
