A 60-year-old man has been sentenced to 25 years in prison after being convicted of repeatedly sexually abusing and raping his daughter over a period of more than two years in Queens, New York, prosecutors said.
The Queens Village resident was found guilty of first-degree rape, first-degree incest and continuous sexual conduct against a child. In addition to his prison sentence, he must serve 20 years of post-release supervision and register as a sex offender.
According to the Queens District Attorney’s Office, the abuse began in January 2022 when the girl was 10 years old and visiting her father during school breaks. Prosecutors said the assaults continued for years and became more frequent after the man obtained primary custody of the child in July 2023.
The case came to light in May 2024 after the victim disclosed the abuse to a family member, leading to the man’s arrest and prosecution.
Queens District Attorney Melinda Katz praised the survivor’s courage, saying her decision to come forward ensured the defendant was held accountable for his crimes.
