Russian-installed authorities in the Zaporizhzhia region said a Ukrainian artillery attack damaged a kindergarten and killed two civilians in separate strikes.
According to regional governor Yevgeny Balitsky, shelling in the town of Blagoveshchenka damaged the kindergarten’s facade and windows and killed one woman. He said no children were inside the building at the time of the attack, and none of the facility’s 15 employees were injured.
Balitsky also said an overnight strike in Kamenka-Dneprovskaya damaged residential homes and communication lines, leaving another person dead.
The claims were made by Russian-appointed officials and could not be independently verified. Ukrainian authorities did not immediately comment on the reported attacks.
