Beirut.- At least ten people died and 30 others were injured this Friday in an Israeli bombing against a building in the town of Riyaq, in eastern Lebanon, as part of a wave of attacks against alleged headquarters of the Lebanese Shiite group Hezbollah in the Bekaa Valley.

At the last hour of this Friday, Israeli fighter jets bombed several points in the Bekaa, including a building on the road that connects Riyaq with Baalbek and which was completely destroyed, according to the state media. For its part, the Israeli Army confirmed in a statement bombings against several locations in the vicinity of the city of Baalbek, which it claimed were directed against “command centers” of Hezbollah in areas supposedly surrounded by “civilian population”. This brought to 12 the number of deaths from Israeli attacks this Friday against Lebanon, after two other people had already lost their lives this afternoon in the Palestinian refugee camp of Ain el Helu, in the southern city of Sidon. There, the Jewish State said it had targeted a headquarters from which members of the Palestinian Islamist movement Hamas operated, which for its part announced the death of two “martyrs” identified as Bilal Deeb al Khatib and Mohamed Tariq al Sawi. The property was allegedly used by the joint Palestinian security forces, an amalgamation of the different militias and groups present in Ain el Helu. Israel has continued to attack Lebanese territory despite the ceasefire in effect between both countries since the end of 2024, actions that it usually directs against members or infrastructure of Hezbollah, especially in the south of the country, and which have intensified since the beginning of this year.
