Santo Domingo.- Jonathan Basden revalidated his champion title in the highest category of national motorsport after winning one of the two races of the Racing Sedan (RS) and finishing second in the remaining one, closing with a flourish the National Championships of the Dominican Federation of Automobilism (FDA) in the Repsol Grand Prix.

The Viva driver, at the wheel of car #133, celebrated the end of a brilliant season with his team. Giuseppe Rivas took the closing race of the championship and shared the podium with Basden by taking second place in the first race of the day. The third step was completed by Christian Bonnet and Eric Checo, respectively. In the SDS PRO, José Lora obtained his sixth title as a professional driver by conquering the division after winning the first race and finishing second in the next. The honors were divided with Kenny Guilbe, who replicated the same performance. Yorkys Mateo also had an outstanding performance in the category. The Amateur division was dominated by Claudimil Nivar and Fernando Mojica, who won both races. In the first race, the podium was completed by Elian Mateo and Bryan Herrera, while in the second race Aris Custodio and Pedro Torres took the podium. In the Street Touring (ST), Christian “El Huracán” Bonnet sealed his sixth national title with an impressive performance, winning both races of the weekend. In both, he managed to prevail over Juanki Leroux and Tonino Aybar, while Miguel Susaña and Giancarlos Díaz alternated in third place. For his part, Piero Perrone closed the season masterfully in the Turismo Nacional, winning both races and securing the championship for the second consecutive year. Carlos Sansoucy, Marcos Pichardo and Halim Gantus shared the remaining podium places. The Index TC 30 has a new champion: José “Che” Paiewonsky, who aboard his Mazda RX-7 added a valuable second place behind Franco Benoit and ahead of Claudimir Nivar. In the second race, Juan Paulino took the victory followed by Néstor Hidalgo and again Nivar. In the TC 32, Pililo won both races, JC Restituyo achieved two second places and the third place was shared between Carlos Guzmán and Jesús Vásquez. The FDA and its president Adriano Abreu Sued expressed their satisfaction with the successful completion of the 2025 season and announced that for next year, major events are planned, backed by important brands, with the aim of continuing to raise the level of national motorsport and provide first-class shows to the growing fanbase.
