SANTO DOMINGO. – The outfielder for the Águilas Cibaeñas, Alberto Rodríguez, is out of danger and under medical observation after being hit in the face by a pitch during the game against the Gigantes del Cibao, played on the night of Tuesday, January 6th.

The incident occurred in the top of the second inning, when Rodriguez hit a single to left field and, on the play of the throw to second base, was hit directly in the right cheekbone by the ball, which forced his immediate exit from the game.
According to the team’s medical staff report, the player was evaluated after the hit and does not have facial fractures. As part of the procedure, he underwent a suture on the right cheekbone and received the corresponding treatment.
After being initially attended to at the stadium, Rodríguez was transferred for observation and medical follow-up. The club reported that the player remains stable and continues to comply with the established recovery protocol.
The Águilas Cibaeñas indicated that there is still no estimated date for their return to the field, pending the evolution of the inflammation and the healing process in the coming hours.
