SANTO DOMINGO.– The Licey Athletic Club extended its congratulations to the Leones del Escogido after being proclaimed champions for the eighteenth time in the autumn-winter baseball tournament of the Dominican Professional Baseball League (LIDOM).

The directive of the blue team, headed by engineer Miguel Guerra Armenteros, expressed its congratulations to the scarlet team through its president, Eduardo Najri, highlighting the sporting merit achieved in the recently concluded season. Likewise, the blue organization, 24-time champion of Dominican winter baseball since its founding on November 7, 1907, extended its recognition to General Manager Carlos Peña and Manager Ramón Santiago, for the work done at the head of the champion team. The congratulatory message also included the players, coaching staff, directors, administrative staff and the loyal fans of the Leones del Escogido, who are now celebrating a new two-time championship in the history of the franchise. The Leones del Escogido prevailed in the Final Series with a record of 4-1, facing the Toros del Este, to secure the organization’s 18th title.
