Philadelphia (USA) (EFE).- Ivory Coast waited until the 90th minute this Sunday to finish off Ecuador with a goal by Amad Diallo and take the three points in the debut match for both teams in Group E of the World Cup.

Until the appearance of the 23-year-old Manchester United forward, the match in Philadelphia seemed like a foregone conclusion and was shaping up to be the first goalless draw of the tournament so far.
Ecuador showed more ambition, took more risks, but was not sharp in the decisive final touch.
La Tri had chances to open the scoring, with two shots from Enner Valencia that hit the crossbar in the first half and another from Gonzalo Plata in the 69th minute that was saved by Ivorian goalkeeper Yahia Fofana.

With this result, Group E is led by Germany with three points, followed by Ivory Coast with the same tally, although with a lower goal difference. Ecuador and the debutant team of Curaçao, which lost 7-1, close the group with no points.
La Tri, led by the Argentine Sebastián Beccacece, had accumulated 19 matches without a defeat until today.
Their last defeat to date was on September 6, 2024, when they lost 1-0 to Brazil in the South American Qualifiers, precisely when the Argentine coach made his debut on the bench.
