Juan Soto said he is confident he will return to the field this season after undergoing an MRI that confirmed a calf strain.
Speaking to reporters, the New York Mets outfielder acknowledged he had anticipated an injury because of the pain he had been experiencing.
“We were expecting something because I was definitely going through it a lot. I was in a lot of pain, but I just kept pushing,” Soto said while discussing the MRI results.
When asked whether he expects to play again before the end of the season, Soto expressed no doubt about his recovery.
