Banreservas highlights the financial strength of the Dominican Republic during the inauguration of FITUR 2026

Madrid.– In the framework of the inauguration of the Dominican Republic’s stand at the International Tourism Fair (FITUR), the executive president of the Reserve Bank, Dr. Leonardo Aguilera, highlighted the strength of the national financial system as one of the main pillars supporting economic growth and attracting investment in the tourism sector. Aguilera pointed out that the Dominican Republic is emerging as one of the fastest-growing economies in the region, with a projected expansion of 4.5% for this year, a result of a climate of stability, confidence and a close articulation between the public and private sectors.

In that sense, he emphasized that tourism continues to be a strategic axis for productive development and job creation. The executive reaffirmed Banreservas’ commitment to continue supporting the financing of tourism and infrastructure projects, consolidating its role as a key ally of the State and of national and international investors. He indicated that Dominican banking has been fundamental in enabling high-impact initiatives that strengthen the country’s competitiveness as a leading Caribbean destination.
