Santo Domingo. – The Emergency Operations Center (COE) Directorate maintains 6 provinces on Yellow alert and 18 provinces on Green alert, due to possible sudden urban and rural floods, rising rivers, streams and ravines, as well as landslides.
In that sense, it is recommended that people should refrain from crossing rivers, streams, and ravines that have high volumes of water, and not use spas, due to the turbidity and the volume of water that they still maintain.
According to today’s weather bulletin from the National Meteorology Institute “INDOMET”, which states that cloudy conditions generating moderate to heavy showers are observed, accompanied by electrical storms and wind gusts, in satellite images and the meteorological radar, affecting provinces such as Monte Cristi, Dajabón, Elías Piña, San Juan, Santiago Rodríguez, Puerto Plata, Espaillat, Hermanas Mirabal, Duarte, María Trinidad Sánchez, Samaná, Monseñor Nouel, Sánchez Ramírez, Santiago, San José de Ocoa, Barahona, Azua, Independencia, Pedernales, La Altagracia, Hato Mayor, Monte Plata, El Seibo including El Gran Santo Domingo and San Cristóbal.

Pursuant to the foregoing and as established in Article 2, Chapter 1, of Law 147-02, on Risk Management, this Emergency Operations Center maintains ALERT levels due to possible rises in rivers, streams and ravines, as well as sudden or urban floods, for the following provinces and the National District.
