Spain.- The Community of Madrid and the embassy of the Dominican Republic in Spain paid tribute to the 233 fatalities and the more than 200 injured after the collapse of the roof of the nightclub Jet Set.
The president of the Community of Madrid, Isabel Díaz Ayuso, addressed the attendees highlighting the close ties that unite Madrid with the Dominican community.
“The Community of Madrid organizes this heartfelt tribute to the people of the Dominican Republic following the tragedy caused by the collapse of the Jet Set nightclub one month ago today. We want to accompany them in their mourning,” said the regional president.

She added that, “A pain that as a nation is sometimes much greater when you are far from your people. But the 68,000 Dominicans who live in Madrid must know that they are not outside their homeland here. Dominicans in Madrid are at home,” Díaz Ayuso highlighted.

The tribute was attended by the minister of the Council of the Dominican embassy, Ramón Burgos; and the consul, Martes Piantini, as well as Dominicans residing in the Spanish capital to pay tribute to the deceased and show solidarity with their families and with the injured who are still recovering.
