Santo Domingo. – The National Police, in coordination with the Public Ministry, reported today the capture of Henry Rafael Torres Rosario, 26 years old, identified as the alleged perpetrator of the death of the Haitian adolescent Maite Evanfelina Gerónimo de la Cruz, alias “Anllelina”, 16 years old, which occurred on September 6 in the El Bonito sector, San Isidro, Santo Domingo East municipality.
The arrest occurred by court order No. 973-2025-EMES-10284, executed by agents of the Division of Crimes and Offenses against Persons (Homicides), on El Bron street in the aforementioned sector.
During the intervention, the bladed weapon used to commit the crime was seized.
According to the preliminary report, the victim died from multiple stab wounds, inflicted by Torres Rosario in the home they shared.
The law enforcement institution recalled that it had activated the search for the suspect since the day of the event, achieving his capture thanks to the intelligence and investigation work carried out in coordination with the Public Ministry.
The detainee will be brought before the justice system to answer for the crime committed, while the National Police will continue to firmly confront crimes that threaten the life and integrity of individuals, especially those related to gender-based and domestic violence.
