The President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, announced this Monday that the Minister of Inclusion, Social Security and Migrations, Elma Saiz, will be the new government spokesperson, replacing Pilar Alegría, and that Milagros Tolón, current government delegate in Castilla-La Mancha, will take charge of the Ministry of Education, Vocational Training and Sports.
Sánchez has unveiled these changes, motivated by Alegría’s departure to run as a socialist candidate for the presidency of Aragon, in an institutional statement at the Moncloa Palace after having communicated them to the king.
The head of the Executive briefly recalled the careers of Saiz and Tolón.
Of the new spokesperson, the fifth woman to hold this position in the Sánchez governments, it has been pointed out that she has been part of the Government since 2023, has a law degree from the University of Navarra and specializes in taxation.
«And above all, she is a great minister with whom Spain is close to 22 million contributors to Social Security», he added.
