Washington .- United States Vice President JD Vance stated on the popular conservative podcast ‘Joe Rogan Experience’ that part of the Israeli government has tried to prevent a deal with Iran because they “wanted to continue the military campaign indefinitely.”
“We know with absolute certainty that there are people in the shadows within their (Israel’s) system who are manipulating American public opinion and trying to change it to prolong the war indefinitely; not with a specific goal in mind, but simply so that it continues without end,” he stated in the latest episode, released on Wednesday, of the Joe Rogan podcast, one of the most popular in the country among young conservative audiences.
The U.S. Vice President defended the memorandum of understanding signed with Iran in June in collaboration, he said, with allied Gulf countries that “would be willing to invest” in the Islamic Republic if it changes its “behavior in the region.
Israel is reportedly paying to attack the Iran deal
However, regarding Israel, Vance said that part of its Executive is paying influential figures in the United States “to attack the agreement.”
“There is a lot of talk about the extent to which the Israeli government influences U.S. policy, and there are certainly people within the Israeli government who loathe the deal. We see concrete evidence of that,” he stated during a nearly three-hour interview.

According to Vance, the strategy of U.S. President Donald Trump “is not limited to negotiation; it also involves the military sphere and other aspects,” although “with limitations, such as when the Iranians attacked a merchant ship” and the current escalation of attacks in the Middle East began.
Vance defends the need for a deal with Iran
The vice president said he felt “obsessively” attacked by campaigns funded to keep the “military campaign indefinitely” and defended as a goal “to reach an agreement” with which Iran would never have a nuclear weapon.
“I don’t mind that, let’s say, certain sectors of the Israeli government want to criticize the agreement or disagree with it. I’m not even bothered by the attempts to influence; you know, foreign governments try to influence the United States all the time. Israel does it, other countries do too,” he considered.

Vance participated in the round of negotiations with Iran held in June in Switzerland where a roadmap was agreed upon to reach a definitive nuclear agreement that would put an end to the war started by Israel and the United States on February 28.
