Santo Domingo.- The Minister of Sports, Kelvin Cruz, assured this Sunday that the internal process being carried out by the Modern Revolutionary Party (PRM) is “coldly calculated, agreed upon, and settled,” while calling on the leadership of that organization to demonstrate maturity and consolidation during its National Assembly of Delegates.
Cruz maintained that the PRM leadership must demonstrate that it has learned from the mistakes of the past and know how to conduct itself in these new times, considering that Dominican society maintains high expectations of its political class.
“The leadership of the Modern Revolutionary Party must show maturity, understanding, and, above all, consolidation of the trajectory of a party that has learned from the mistakes of the past,” he stated.
The PRM leader stated that the political organization must observe the experiences of other parties and avoid repeating situations that could affect its institutionality, considering that the current juncture represents an opportunity to demonstrate its political maturity.
On another note, Cruz described the Santo Domingo 2026 Central American and Caribbean Games as a “sports festival for Dominicans,” highlighting the performance of the Dominican athletes.

The minister highlighted that the Dominican delegation surpassed the 111 medals obtained in the last edition of the Central American Games, by reaching 150 medals on this occasion.
Cruz attributed the result to the effort of the Dominican athletes and the support of the population, and maintained that the achievements reached do not correspond to a particular person or institution, but rather represent a triumph of the entire Dominican people.
